Plebbit can fix this. After the message boards clients are done, I we should focus on a plebbit client for fundraising using crypto, with a UI similar to Patreon, GoFundMe, GiveSendGo, etc.
The difference between general-purpose message boards like reddit and 4chan, and crowdfunding sites, is that the UX in the latter is entirely focused on maximizing visibility of each fundraise relative to its perceived value and/or established connections. The goal is to enable fundraisers to raise as much money as possible in the shortest time possible. That is why content discovery and onboarding ease is so crucial for these sites, which are designed specifically for this.
A plebbit client for fundraising would use its own default list of “subs” which are actually fundraisers, with all the necessary fundraiser info set as required values in the subplebbit, and it would still be interoperable with other plebbit clients, but every sub/fundraise would probably be token-gated (ie only who has donated can comment).
We’ll probably explore different designs for it, it will be very interesting to see how it all plays out.
